Cargese Dolphins

Last Season: The Dolphins finished 1-15 in Elite after finishing as the runner up champion in D1 the previous season. Obviously it was a rough go for them last season. Before last season they have been balanced on offense and defense. I would guess it would be similar this season...however...they are in financial trouble and that could affect the roster if cuts have to be made or players have to be sold. So, for me, the Dolphins are a mystery as I don't know what we are going to get.

Mulheim Steelers, not to be confused with the Mulheim Seahawks lol

Last Season: Finished 10-6 and just outside the playoffs (in the AC would have made playoffs). They look to have a strong roster with a good mix of old and young. Finished in 4th in the division in season 43, 3rd in season 44, and 2nd place in seasons 45, and 46. In the last 3 years the winner of this division has won the league championship. The Steelers have won at least 10 games in each of the last 3 seasons. They are due! I think this is the Steelers division to win depending on what Dolphins team we get. My prediction is a Steelers Division Championship.

High Desert Outlaws

Last Season: Finished 11-5 and the 5th seed. Took the playoffs by storm to win the D2 League Championship. Nice work! Some might wonder if it was luck or a fluke. First off, it takes a little luck by almost anyone to win the championship. Second, Aces definitely puts the work in! I think in the forums I read he had a huge playbook (over 2000 lines?) and is involved on the forums trying to figure things out and challenging the thinking of the veterans. With the current roster I'm not so sure they are playoff bound right away but might be avoiding relegation. This year is likely to be a year of building up the roster and scouting out the opponents.

The Blackmanes

Last Season: Finished 2-14 and staved off relegation by beating Minglewood in a shootout 44-41. Last season was rough for the Blackmanes (I remember a post where he was concerned about moving up the next season). The Blackmanes would like to be a running team with a good defense, at least that is what they were in D2. Not competing for a division title but I do think avoiding relegation is likely. I think they finished 3rd in their division but maybe 2nd depending on the Dolphins.

Werewolves

Last Season: Finished 13-3 and was bounced in the playoffs by the Outlaws. Solid up and down roster, balanced on offense and defense. The only three losses last year were to 2 division winners who each had 14 wins and a 10 win team. This is my pick to win the division this year. The Moors haven't logged in since March 24th so I fear bot designation is on the way.

Budapest Janitors

Last Season: Finished 7-9. The start to the season was good with a 7-3 start and a win against the eventual division champ Moors. BPJ then continued to drop the remaining 6 games. BPJ offense was a running team that set up the deep ball. That deep ball was super effective, especially to start the year. The achilles heel is the defense. Out of the returning teams to the NC only 2 others gave up more points, the Blackmanes and the other Budapest team. Success this season is going to depend on what they do to shore up the defense.

Girona Dragons

Last Season: Finished 6-10. To be honest I have a hard time figuring the Dragons out. Last season they had Seahawks, lost a few close games to top level teams (by one point to the Pikes), but then lose to Werewolves by 58 points. Werewolves are a really good team but 58 points? I know that they know how to play as evidenced by the original Dragons holding so many statistical records to this day. The team roster and ratings indicate a team that should have more wins. I think less than 8-8 would probably be a disappointment to Quimriera.

Moors

Moors haven't logged in since March 24th , 2 weeks ago. Looks to be going bot. This is a shame as last season we had a total of one bot in D1 and that was at the halfway point. This season we are looking like we will start with 3 right off the bat. RedBull, Moors, and Torpedos.

Predicted Playoff Teams AC

Guns&Roses
Mulheim Seahawks
Devils
Jackalopes
Lonestar

and one of these:
Rio
Panthers
Marines

Predicted Playoff Teams NC

Nottingham Outlaws
Gardians
OTR
Mulheim Steelers
Werewolves

And one of these:
SF
Dolphins
BPJ

I think what is going to impact this is the Bot teams. 2 in the NC and one in the AC.

For today's match Moors are not yet Bot. Bad luck for my team.

In Place of Weekly Reviews I'm revisiting the preseason divisional predictions.

AC East

Favorite in the preseason is the same as now. Guns & Roses remains unbeaten, is top 6 in all categories, and has wins against good teams. Probably contending for league championship.

I had Lonestar as the runner up and Paladins as 3rd but I had it backwards at this point.

Paladins won the last 2 games against human teams that are current divisional leaders. Out of their final 8 there are 3 possible losses for them. Yes all games are possible losses but there are 3 that I can see it happening more than others. Even if they lose those 3 games they would finish 12-4. Paladins are currently in the 2nd wild card slot and the next team below them has 3 losses. It is unlikely Paladins don't make playoffs. I feel 85% sure they are in.

Lonestar is probably just as good as Paladins but has been more inconsistent. Their 4 losses are two teams with a combined one loss ( one score loss to Paladins) and then to two teams that are 4-4. The last game was a win over the previously unbeaten Outlaws. I'm not counting them out. I would expect Lonestar to win 5 out of the next 6 games (could be 4 of 6) that would bring them to 9-5 with the remaining games vs Paladins and GR. They are currently in a pack of 4-4 teams that are 3 games behind Paladins and Jackalopes for wild card spots. The fact that whether it is Jackalopes or Panthers and Paladins that are the wild cards with one loss at the halfway point is a concerning sign for other teams vying for a wild card spot. I'm feeling 40% sure they make the playoffs.

Pizti is playing the role of the spoiler. The playoffs is not in the cards but they can upset a team on any gameday. They nearly pulled it off vs GR and have kept other games close. Falling asleep on them is a mistake.

AC North

I didn't even try to break this division down before because it is competitive and it wouldn't take much to switch in the standings.

I expected Jackalopes to be where they are. Run the ball and control the clock is their game. They have close wins over good teams and beat the teams they should. The only loss is to Guns & Roses. There are some tough divisional games coming up soon that will start to shape this division a little more. Jackalopes still have Panthers twice, Westlake, Quack twice to play. I still feel they are also 85% likely to secure a playoff spot.

Panthers went 8-8 last season and are sitting at 8-1 right now and technically division leaders. They have had a soft schedule so far. Only 2 of the first 9 games have opponents with a winning record. Not the Panthers fault but it is what it is. 4 of the final 7 are Jackalopes twice, Westlake, and Steelers. I think they are looking more to take a wild card spot. I'm 70% sure they make the playoffs.

The Quack are about where they were last year. Last year they finished 8-8 and right now they are 4-4. Finishing .500 isn't going to make the playoffs and they have 4 games left that are tough games.

AC South

This division is a hot mess. I predicted Devils as the only playoff representative. Obviously with them going bot combined with Red Bull going bot there are only 2 teams left to compete for the division.

Turgtians with 3 wins and Chargers with 2 wins....this might be a division that sends a team to the playoffs without a winning record.

Turigtians has 3 bots left to make them have at least 6 wins. To get to 500 they have to win 2 out of these 5 games: Girona Panthers Paladins Rio Westlake.

The Chargers have 4 bots left plus their 2 wins to get them to 6 wins as well. They would have to win 2 of these to get to 500: Jackalopes, Guns & Roses, Werewolves, and Baltic.

Only one goes to the playoffs.

AC West

Seahawks currently hold a one game lead at 5-3. As for Rio at 4-4...I can't figure them out lol. Wins against Seahawks and OTR followed by blowout losses to Eagles and a loss to Pizti. Baltic is just holding on at 4-4. France is in the back of the division. Still Seahawks division to win but if Rio can be consistent they have a chance. Going to be tough for anyone outside the division winner to make the playoffs.

AC Playoff Contenders

Predicted Division Winners:

Guns & Roses
Jackalopes
Turigtians
Seahawks

Predicted Wild Cards:

Panthers
Paladins

I know it seems like I'm taking the easy picks based on current records but the teams behind the 8-1 wild cards don't have easy schedules so it would take a lot to change these 6 teams not being locked in.

Originally said it was Outlaws to lose and that remains true with the Outlaws starting out 8-1 and a top 5 defense.

St. Pauli 5-4 and Budapest Wolves 4-5 have won games against teams with losing records although they did both recently keep GR to a close game. There isn't much hope of pushing Outlaws for the division with a 3 or 4 game deficit and both still have to play Outlaws who scored 60+ against both teams. Best hope is wild card. In the AC they would have virtually zero chance but in the NC St. Pauli is 14 DF point from the final wild card spot but I'm not sure that will continue. Gardians and OTR are just too good to keep at the record they currently have.

100% sure Outlaws win division and I give a 10% chance for the other 2 to get a wild card.

NC North

Originally suggested OTR and Gardians to duke it out for the division and leaning towards Gardians. I honestly had SF 3rd in the division.

Currently SF is leading the division by 1 game over OTR and 2 games over Gardians who beat SF twice. If Eagles had one more win the division records would be a palindrome lol.

Gardians, OTR, and SF all have relatively easier schedules the remaining way of the schedule.

SF has one game left vs a team with a current winning record and that is vs OTR.

Gardians also have 1 game left vs a current winning record and that is vs Seahawks.

OTR has Steelers and SF left.

With only a game or 2 separating us the division will likely come down to Gardians vs Seahawks, SF vs OTR, and point differential.

With the one game lead SF is looks to keep it until that last game. My prediction is SF wins the division by pd tiebreaker.

Out of OTR and Gardians it is tough picking which one might make the wildcard as this season seems even more unpredictable. Gardians have 4 wins but 3 are vs SF (twice) and OTR (once). Outside those 3 games the Gardians are 1-5 with a negative 33 point differential. I did not see that coming at all. OTR started out slow but has won 4 in a row so at this point I give OTR a better chance at the playoffs.

I'd give OTR a 60% chance and Gardians a 30% chance to be in the playoffs.

Predicted Steelers to win division and that will come true. Mathematically Dolphins are in range but they have been inconsistent and have only one of their wins vs a team with a winning record (SF) while Steelers have wins vs Werewolves, Marines, and nearly beat Jackalopes. Steelers and Dolphins play each other twice the remaining way.

100% Steelers win it. I give 20% chance for Dolphins to make it.

High Desert Outlaws have 2 wins but could be sitting at 4 wins with a couple of close losses. I'm not personally looking forward to the game coming up vs Outlaws....I mean planning against that monstrous playbook is a serious pain in the neck lol. Don't sleep on this team when you play them.

Blackmanes are stuggling to score being held to 10 points or less 6 out of the 9 games this season. They have a tough second half of the season to go. I don't understand the Blackmanes struggles when I look at the roster. They should be better than 1-8.

NC West

This is a division I picked Werewolves to win the division and they are currently leading by a game over Janitors. The remaining schedule does give Janitors control of their destiny. They have 4 games left vs bots so they will have at least 10 wins. The other 3 games are vs St. Pauli and 2 vs Werewolves. Whereas the Werewolves have one bot left, the 2 vs BPJ, and a game vs Outlaws. Unfortunately the Moors going bot might be affecting this quite a bit as one of the losses the Werewolves had was vs Moors pre bot while BPJ got both their games vs the bot Moors.

So the next game up for both teams is BPJ at Werewolves. A BPJ win gives them a big boost for winning the division while a loss gives Werewolves the breathing room they would need in case of upsets.

I think both teams make the playoffs. I would say the one that doesn't win the division is 80% in for the playoffs.

Girona might be going bot since they haven't logged in since April 19th. They might be the unluckiest team as they face Torpedoes, Moors before they went bot. I hope they aren't gone but it doesn't look good. I would even understand after the struggling every season the last 3 seasons.
