Playoff Picture
AC: The #1 Seahawks #2 Polar Bears and #4 Vipers are locked into their seeds regardless of what happens next. The 3 seed is the winner of Panthers/Westlake as both lost this week. The #5 and # 6 comes down to Rio/Baltic game. Rio wins then it will be Rio and Pizti. If Rio loses then it will be Rio and Baltic. NC: All playoff spots are clinched. The only game that affect seeding (I think) is SF/Eagles game. If I win then I'm the #1 Seed and Eagles are the #5 Seed with Werewolves being the #2 seed. If Eagles win then they are the #2 Seed, Werewolves remain the #1 seed, and I remain the #5 Seed. Personally I would like to in the division but an extra game with tickets is also ok. Power Ranking - Dragons 1 - Season 48 - Week 16
- Alert Polar Bears keep #1 and Mülheim Seahawks #2 but Sfniner08 drop out of the Top 3 and are replaced by Werewolves (#3). - Biggest rise: 3 positions for Budapest Janitors (from #20 to #17) after their win over Miami Dolphins (#30). - Biggest drop: 3 positions for Sfniner08 (from #3 to #6) and Panthers (from #8 to #11). One last game

Wild Card Round
AC 13-3 Rio @ 8-8 Vipers It would be easy and maybe understandable to give the W to Rio but I will caution that assumption with the data from the match they played this season. On the surface the 34-15 win by Rio looks like a blowout. However, statistically Vipers were on par with Rio. You could even say that Rio won this game using 3 plays. In the first few plays of the game Rio returned an interception for a touchdown. The 4th quarter started with Rio up 20-12. Rio had 2 long touchdown passes of 49 and 80 yards. Those 2 td passes and the int accounted for 21 of the 34 points. Do I think Rio will win? Yes. Would I be shocked Viper wins? No. 11-5 Baltic @ 10-6 Westlake Well, we have some very fresh data about how this matchup could go as Westlake narrowly beat Baltic in the SC playoffs 37-31. Westlake had to score 21 points in the 4th quarter and Baltic had to throw 4 interceptions to make it happen. I'm favoring Baltic in a revenge game. Whoever wins these games will have tough matches coming up in Polar Bears and Seahawks. Vipers and Rio game feature the teams with the highest and lowest records and will thus determine the next round matchups. If Rio wins then they play Polar Bears while the winner of Westlake/Baltic plays Seahawks. If Vipers win then they play Seahawks while the winner of Westlake/Baltic plays Polar Bears. NC 12-4 Eagles @ 8-8 Fur Traders They played each other a few days ago with the Eagles winning 34-27. In that game the Fur Traders used MOTY and outscored the Eagles 24-7 in the second half. No MOTY in this game. I am favoring the Eagles to win this game but won't be shocked by Traders upsetting them as the previous season it was a 1 point win by Eagles with no MOTY. What I think hurts Traders a little is their strength is run defense and the Eagles just don't run. I mean I've had a single game with almost as many yards rushing as their number 1 rusher has had all season combined. Traders will need turnovers to win this game. 10-6 Gardians @ 11-5 Budapest Wolves This is the only wild card matchup where the wild card doesn't have a better record than the home division winner. Crazy. These teams also recently played each other as all of these teams have so far in this round. Wolves won that match 17-10. This low scoring affair was controlled by the Wolves. Gardians scored their lone touchdown off a Wolves interception where they went 5 plays and 30 yards for the touchdown. Wolves threw 2 interceptions in this game. Gardians chances for winning seem to hinge on getting enough turnovers. This is the only home team I'm favoring to win this round. Of course in the end I could be so full of it and be completely off lol! The Eagles and Traders game has the team with the highest and lowest record so it will determine who plays who the next round. If the Eagles win then they play SF, while the winner of Wolves/Gardians plays Werewolves. If Traders win then they play Werewolves, while the winner of Wolves/Gardians plays SF. I'm sure Werewolves are just happy that BPJ isn't in the playoffs as they beat them both games this year lol. |
