in 9 days there is season rollover to Season 50.

At the same time I would like to close registration for league level 2. The whole situation allows this since I was putting a limit per region on the registration, about 2 seasons ago. However ...

If we do, we will probably lose some new fresh blood, since not so many free spots are left (about 8 right now). But for sure we would have more fun througout the season because of almost no bots in competitions. At the same time new teams join a quite tough competition in their league, which is D1 then. This might scare off new managers.

If we do not make this change, we will probably not lose new fresh blood, since many free spots are left (hundreds). But for sure we would have less fun througout the season because of many bots in competitions. At the same time new teams join a quite low competition with many bots in their league, which is D2 then. This might scare off new managers.

So ...

My proposal for a Sandbox league to start is maybe worth a second thought.

Sorry, but no. Reason: no league-structural changes for the moment.

I am in D2 this season, and from my point of view, any new manager who joined the game (and i think they were over 30 managers who joined SD2, as example), decided if they liked RZA or not in about 10-15 minutes (then they went boot in 7 days), not after they played 1, 2 or 3 games.
So the main thing i'm saying is, if a new manager wants to play, it doesn't matter in which division he is. The only important thing must be his willingness to learn the game.

@Radu91: Yes, but I have an opposing example of a manager who joined at circa the same time like me, won the championship in the 2nd league level. He was then active for maybe 2-4 games on 1st level and with realizing that it's quite a jump in toughness to win left the game. So there are these, too.

But I'm with you: Either you like the game and keep playing even if you lose the first games (which makes the first win all the more sweet, at least it was like that for me ), or you don't and leave.

I could see that newbies are overwhelmed, though (like I was), and maybe it is not that bad to have a chance of getting a feel for the game without constantly getting bashed...

I feel you, I don't like people who counter their own argument, too

Sure I can understand that, but main question or proposal is, whether this could be a way to make the jump not too hard.

Implementing such a functionality is not easy, even some shortcuts could be made by not being THAT dynamic and doing the space available calculation and eventualy merge, destructon and construction of sandbox leagues during rollover.

And of course the switch between sandbox and regular D1 leagues is something new, which might need some additional features.
