Congrats on the win over the Packers. Certainly impressive winning both games against them this season.

The NC has 2 good looking games in the wild card round.

It’s this time of the season again, when the match-ups get fewer and the stakes higher. When each game is a matter of elimination or advancing, with small mistakes having the biggest impact. Because now it matters the most, when every win brings you closer to a victory of the most epic proportions.

Simply put: Welcome to the Playoffs

In the Wildcard Round we have 2 teams who are in it for the first time in Admirals I. We’ll see a recurring match-up from seasons ago, and we even have a divisional match-up from the NC North. These are the games:

Berlin Iron Tigers (12–4) @ London Silverbacks (12–4)

The first new team to the mix are the Iron Tigers from Berlin. Coming from the AC West, they joined the league in S36 and had bad luck with their opponents in the Division, having a revolving door for the ELITE-Teams Bracciano Lakers, the Black Panthers, the Free Agent Mascots as well as being in constant battle with Melittlemenon thepitchhitchin. But the Tigers got better constantly over the last few seasons and are finally here. Where they meet Regulars in the Postseason, though, who won the AC North since S36. In fact, it’s the first time that the Silverbacks from London do not start the Playoffs in the Divisional Round since S45. This will be a tough one for the Tigers.

Coyotes (11–5) @ VenoM (13–3)

These two teams just played each other in the Regular Season, as VenoM secured the prime position in the NC East with a 20:15-victory at the Coyote’s Den. Now the Coyotes have to go to VenoM’s Community Arena, where they lost in Week 3. And while VenoM is another Regular in the postseason, it’s just the second time that the Coyotes are in the Playoffs of Admirals I. The first time around, in S47, they lost in the Wildcard Round. When they visited the Community Arena. Home of… VenoM Although I believe it would be a lot of fun to redeem that one today

Green Mark Packers (14–2) @ Barossa Bulldogs (10–6)

It’s the second year in a row that the Packers are entering the Playoffs in Wildcard Round. Last season they advanced to the Conference Championship where they lost to the eventual Bowl Winner Amma’s Angels. They will try hard for another shot at the ELITE, snatching one of the spots that the aforementioned Angels and the Free Agent Mascots will leave when they relegate down again.
The first opponent on this run is another new team to the Admirals I Playoffs, but an experienced one. The Barossa Bulldogs were in the Playoffs of their former league, Thunder I, for the last 6 seasons, even playing Conference Championship Football for the last 3. They may want to find that mojo again before they meed the Packers, though. Their first match-up, when they met in Week 7 of the Regular Season, was a shutout-win for the visiting Packers, 67:0.

Nanaimo Bluebacks (14–2) @ Morgantown Mad Dogs (11–5)

It’s the third time in a row for both of these teams that they start in the Playoffs, each time in the Wildcard Round. Where they met in S49, for the first time. The Bluebacks won that one, advanced to the Divisional Round where they were beaten by the London Silverbacks. In S50, both teams exited the tournament in the Wildcard Round, but also met in Week 2 of the Regular Season when the Mad Dogs got their revenge for the Playoff Loss. Which team will be able to add another win to their resume?

Good luck to everyone

Wow, that's quite a surprise: The Barossa Bulldogs won convincingly over the big favorite Green Mark Packers. Now we'll meet them on Saturday... and my squad is not handling well teams that pass all the time. Gotta go to the lab and find an antidote...

Congrats to the Bulldogs as well as the Mad Dogs, the Silverbacks and VenoM

It’s the Divisional Round where the 4 best teams of each conference play each other. And oddly enough it’s in fact the 8 best teams since all #5- and #6-seeded participants called it quits in the last round. So without further ado: Here are the match-ups of this Divisional Playoffs-Saturday:

#4 Barossa Bulldogs @ #1 HAMBURG SEA LIONS

Two entirely new teams to this stage of the Admirals I Playoffs meet in Hamburg, where the #1-seeded SEA LIONS welcome the Bulldogs from Barossa. The home team is still flying high on happy hormones, while in disbelief that the season turned out that good. But they worked good in their bye week, recovering from the hard-fought game against the Packers and preparing for the Bulldogs. The latter came to the league with the expectations to advance to the playoffs, and they did not disappoint. But little did everyone know what a powerhouse it was that came to the Admirals. Now they seek to continue their path to greatness, and an upstart team like the SEA LIONS may be just a minor disturbance on that way. Their first meeting in Week 16 was lost by the Bulldogs, but they lost their first encounter with the Packers, too… and look what they did to them in the Wildcard Round.

#3 London Silverbacks @ #2 Melittlemenon thepitchhitchin

These two teams know each other a long time, having already played 5 times in the Playoffs of the course of at least 13 seasons. The last time they met in the Postseason the Silverbacks won by a narrow margin of 2 points, 30:28, in the Divisional Round of S50. With this win they got in front one game in the overall Postseason-Win-Record against Melittlemenon thepitchhitchin, leading 3:2. But Melittlemen will look to equalize this record again, and already gave an outlook of things that might come with not only a nearly flawless record of 15–1 in the regular season, but a dominant win over the Silverbacks in Week 5 of this Regular Season as well.

#4 Morgantown Mad Dogs @ #1 Bracciano Lakers

The Bracciano Lakers are a regular in the Playoffs whenever they play „minor league football“ (aka NOT ELITE), and they finished the regular season as the only unbeaten team in the whole Admirals I. The visiting Morgantown Mad Dogs are in the Divisional Round for the first time since re-joining the league in S47, after bowing out in the Wildcard Round in the last two seasons. These two teams just played once in an official game, Week 9 of S48, when the Lakers won 48:7. But they already played this season in a Friendly Cup Game that the Mad Dogs were able to win 17:10. So maybe they can surprise the heavy favorite tonight

#3 VenoM @ #2 Devon Dog Soldiers

Another match-up that reaches WAY back: these two teams met for the first time in Week 8 of S33 when the Dog Soldiers won a close one 14:13. While they played another 7 times in the league, they never met in the Admirals-I-Postseason until today. In the 8 league-games that they played the Dog Soldiers from Devon lead the record with 5 wins, the latest from this seasons Week 7 when they won at the Community Arena 35:30. But whenever they met in the Supercup, VenoM had the leg up, in the last one reminiscing the very first match-up when they won 14:13 the other way around. This one may be another close one, as the majority of their games had one-score-outcomes. So it’s all set for another close encounter between these two.

Good luck to everyone

Everything is literally in the hands of Lakers' rookie QB, just to relief some pressure out of him
In Supercup playoffs he threw 4 interceptions with two consecutive defensive TD of the Vamosahi in the 4th Quarter.
These are the games when a champion shows up and we need to understand if he can be our long-term-helmsman ...

Thanks for writing the previews they are well studied, funny and realistic.
Well done !

Your rookie QB is still probably better than the 2 guys I have.

Tuesdays playoff win was a pleasant surprise, but the Lakers are on a different level than the Mad Dogs. We'll see how close we can keep the game.

I feel you!

Things looked pretty good in Q2, when we equalized with mere 1:55 to go, after reeling because of giving the ball away by fumbling. But then the Bulldogs QB threw the ball 50 Yards to the Endzone just before halftime.
And our QB thought "hey, I can do that, too"... but he just couldn't, and threw the ball to the opponents defenders 3 (!!!) times in the second half, instead. It was very frustrating tonight...
