We have several different ways what to do....

1.) We change it in a way you are able to set your max price, and highest bidder wins the player for the second highest max price + some offset, no real time bid wars anymore.

2.) we mix it up (as suggested via PM): The auction stays as it is, and until 1 hour before deadline you can decide if you go for the normal auction of if you make a "blind bid". If the blind bid is the highest after the deadline, the blind bidder gets the deal...some flaws in there, has to be discussed

3.) We raise the number of players put on the market each night - I HATE this one...as discussed many times

4) Limit the number of player a team can buy in 1 month and/or in 1 season? For instance; 3/Month or 8/Season?

5) Only put Free Agents on the Transfer List for the first 30 days of a season? After 30 days the only players available will be ones teams sell?

6) "Nerf" all Free Agents. For instance, by capping their maximum current Speed & Strength at 30, and cap all other skills at 20. Leave Intel and Teamwork alone!

So a guy like this:
Strength 45.8
Speed 38.6
Positioning 25.2
Agility 26.6
Catching 24.3

Would look like this instead:
Strength 30
Speed 30
Positioning 20
Agility 20
Catching 20

He would still be a very nice addition, but not as valuable as a draftee.

I like number 4 and 6 (allthough i would prefer a capping at ~35).

I see, that many managers want to lower the prices for good players.

Have in mind, that it will lower the price for your players in the future, too. If you want to sell a very good player in 2-3 seasons and you get only 10 Mio, than you want the bidding war back. Both systems have their pros and cons.

the market needs changing sooner rather than later! teams have max stadiums and unlimited disposable income now and the market is becoming a farce. right time right place if your willing to sit up or camp the player for a bid war.

i haven't touched the market since season 1 and my team will suffer but i cant be arsed chasing boosted free agents thats shouldnt be at the highs they are at!.

it was suggested here about free's only being on the market for 30 days i would adjust thats to the last 2 weeks of the season and the first 2 of the new season then team sales only.

I think you'd still get a big price for a good player with 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, or the current bid system. Blind bidding can give some crazy overbids, #4, #5 and #6 don't really limit bid amounts on players that managers sell, just free agents. Of course, 4, 5, and 6 still give bid wars, but probably not to $10+Mil.

Not a fan of #3).

I actually think that by season 4 most rosters will have players better than the free agents we are seeing today.

I agree completely with that. Free agents are going for big money now because they're the best available, but with many players already at 20+ skill points they'll soon pass the free agents that are joining the transfer list.

Those who spend alot on players now won't have as much money for when the better players become available. I'd be happier paying 25 million for a player with 35+ skill next season than 25 now

What do you think about a blind bidding and you get a hint, when somebody placed a higher bid, but every manager can bid only 3 times on one player.

blind bidding would be a better system at least players would pay wot the value a player at not the price they see.

some unrealistic bids would still get in but no less than now.

not sure how possible it would be with a blind system but maybe

a 2 bids system u get your initial bid then another chance if its low.

a 3 bids system on a traffic light system

red = bid is 80 - 50% less than original bidder
orange = 50 - 0%
green = bid leader.

[edit] just noticed Buffalo posted above me with 3 bids while i was typing

gives a rough idea if its worth bidding again then.

What this comes down to is those without complaining about those that have. Sure you don't have the cash yet, but you will. If you aren't willing to put in a little time here and there for a player you really want then that is either lack of dedication or just being lazy. Man up people. Stop crying everytime you think you aren't getting an exact even slice of the pie as everyone else. No, I'm not one of the haves yet, but I know I will in time. The pissing and moaning about "that's not fair" makes me want to puke. This is freaking football, not princess and ponies. Sheesh.

No, this isn't tongue in cheek, this is me tired of listening to the same people over and over complaining about "fairness" when really "fairness" to them is that they are exactly equal with everyone else.
