For the Quokkas that could, even after two convincing outings of this cute Shaka, mean that they will not be part of the teams that play in the playoffs next week. Glad, the forecast did not happen |

And now your team will have to deal with us
The group round is over, and so we have to say "thank you and goodbye" to the Hamburg Baltic Dogs, the Tigers, the Badalona Cheetahs, the Morgantown Mad Dogs, the Deimon Devil Bats, the Leverkusen Leopards and the Manta Rays. We hope you enjoyed the games, even though you did not win much (or not at all). Of course we are happy to see that the Alaskan Fur Trappers did not advance to the next round. It would have been interesting to see how this whole situation would develop, though, as there were some rumblings heard from the animal community that it should be considered to let humans play again next time. There's an argument made by some that the games of the Fur Trappers have shown humans to be not that dangerous as expected after all. The organization committee hears these arguments, but is not entirely convinced that the shortcomings of the Trappers can be traced back to a general harmlessness of humans per se... or that the Trappers are just a particularly bumbling bunch. But these thoughts will be dwelt upon after this iteration of the tournament is over, since we still have 7 games to play to find a new champion of the Animal Kingdom. And it's going to be very exciting when the playoffs start coming Sunday in the Ark Stadium. |

We were so happy to see these last pictures of the mysterious person deep inside the jungle of unknown whereabouts that we’ve come to expect more information from over there on a weekly basis, so hearing nothing from the one is pretty annoying. Of course we are aware that this special individual does have it’s life a risk every minute that he/she is roaming the grounds of the playoffs, but our need to see what’s going on is pretty high right now… maybe we’ll get to see something soon.
Today, though, we’re treated with game action in the Animal Kingdom II Friendly Cup, and these are the games that will be played today, which is Game Day 4 and with that the first playoff game of this tournament: Air Force Falcons @ Willoughby Wookies It is always the same picture in this Friendly Cup: The Falcons fly all the way to their destination, come in fast and hard, score, defend, score again, and fly away as winners. The Tigers, the Cheetahs and the Elephants had no answer to this swift and sound attack. Will the Wookies have one? They have not had an opponent like this in the group round, but it is said that Wookies have a knack for handling Falcons… so maybe we’re in for a big surprise in this one. BobBoy Magpies @ Sunrise City Prairie Dogs What’s true for the Falcons applies also for the Magpies, who as well swooped into all three group round games and flew away again with nothing but Ws in their pockets. They, too, have to face an opponent unlike any they had in the group round, although these two teams know each other well. The Magpies and the Prairie Dogs play this game a lot besides this tournament and have met multiple times in the last season. The Prairie Dogs, when it counted, came out on top more times than not. We’ll see how they fare today. Dumbarajko Elephants @ Sydney Sea Eagles This game is a re-match from the last tournament, when these teams met in the first playoff round at the same time in this very constellation, too. The Elephants lost the game against the eventual Cup champion then, showing some worrisome shortcomings against intricate aerial attacks due to their cumbersome switching behavior from offense to defense… something that materialized again in their loss on Game Day 3 against the Air Force Falcons. Meanwhile, the reigning champ had an even better group round than last time and looks very ambitious to get to the final game again. HAMBURG SEA LIONS @ Quokkas on steroids This game is brought to you as Match of the Day by the RZA network, and the Creators Quokkas marched through the group round of the Cup like Juggernauts, but always with this adorable smirk on their faces, as if they truly enjoy to beat their opponents (which they probably do). They always scored 30 points or more in their games, but will meet an opponent today whose defense only allowed 20 on average. Maybe the SEA LIONS will be able to wipe that annoying smirk from the Quokkas faces. Good luck to everyone today Last edited on 2024-12-15 17:44:01 by Chrill |
