It truly is an exciting season. Before the beginning I was thinking to get 2 or 3 wins. Now I am surprised to see my team will end the season with a positive record, having 9 wins in already. I believe we will go out 9-7. Only two surprise against the Mustangs and the Mandos might keep my team in Elite. But the odds are already not in our favour and mystics would need to lose at least one match as well.
What a division this is here in the NC East ! |

2 games to go. What’s going on in the conferences?
In the AC … … the Sunrise City Prairie Dogs (13–1) from the East and the Peoples Republic of Yorkshire (12–2) from the South will enter the postseason in the divisional round, both having already earned the bye-week. The seeding may get interesting because the Yorkies have a slightly easier remaining schedule. … the teams at #3 and #4, both at 9–5, are the Magpies from the West and the TigerCats from the North. Both have a lead by two games in their respective division. Both play a tough oppononent on Tuesday before closing the regular season with a game against the worst team in their division. … seed #5 and #6 are currently occupied by the Sea Eagles (9–5) from the South and the Paris Guardians (8–6) from the East. The Sea Eagles are likely to keep their spot, as they play only teams well below .500 in the last two games. The Paris Guardians do, too, and it would be way more surprising if they lose their spot than not. If they slip, though, three teams with a 7–7 record could profit from that: the Mustangs from the North, the Air Force Falcons from the East and the Little Men from the West. All three of them would have to make up a lot of PD to jump the Guardians, though… … 6 Teams are already bound to be relegated. Over in the NC … … Space Kraken from the North sit at #1 with a record of 12–2. … two teams behind them at 11–3 fight for seed #2: the Mandos from the East and the Blitz from the South. Both teams have a two game lead on the teams at second place in their division, but the remaining schedule for the Blitz is by far the easiest of the first three teams in the conference… they may even be able to jump to #1 in the end. … one team at 8–6 is leading the West, occupying seed #4. Whoever wins the West will be seeded here, and it’s highly likely that no other team from this division will enter the postseason. … three teams at 9–5 are battling for seed #5 and #6, the mystics from the East currently in front of the Social Distance Runners from their own division and the Dumbarajko Elephants from the South. The mystics and the Elephants both face opponents from the NC West where they are battling hard for the playoffs and against relegation. The Runners visit the Mustangs who battle for the #6 seed over in the conference, too. And all three of them have tough divisional battles coming up in week 17. The seeding is very likely to be set on the very last game day of the season. … the Stone Mountain Hawks at 8–6 in the East still have good chances to sneak into the playoffs as they play the mystics in week 17. They would have to win against the Kraken in week 16, though, or hope for a loss by the mystics, at the SEA LIONS who need one more win to secure another season in the Elite, to still be able to catch them. … three teams at 7–7 have chances to sneak in as well: the Bobbers from the West because they could still catch the SEA LIONS atop the division; the Black Dragons from the North because one of the current 9–5 teams COULD lose their last two games; and the Brookfield Ukies, again from the West, because they still could catch the SEA LIONS atop the division. All three of them play a game against one opponent below .500 and one against an opponent above .500. And all three need to win them all. Another loss will be crucial, and in the West even be decisive about relegation, too. … 5 teams are bound to be relegated already.

Here's the numbers following Chrill's breakdown:
ACE: - Missouri Misery @ Paris Guardians - Guardians by 14 - Glastonbury Grail Knights @ Air Force Falcons - Falcons by 6 The Guardians have the easier game here. In addition to trying to avoid relegation, both teams have a chance still at making the playoffs. ACW: - Bracciano Lakers @ Burnaby Bruisers - Lakers by 9 - Irish Giants @ Melittlemenon thepitchhitchin - chinnies by 41 With the littlemen having a practical bot game, Bracciano is really needing to win this to keep Elite hopes alive. NCE: - Space Kraken @ Stone Mountain Hawks 2 - Kraken by 16 - Social Distance Runners @ Mustangs - Runners by 2 - mystics @ HAMBURG SEA LIONS - mystics by 7 Real hard draw for the Hawks; they're out without a major upset here. All three teams playing both for Elite status and playoff possibilities, so these are all big games. The Mustangs also want the win here for playoff purposes. NCW: - Chelt Nam Bobbers @ Gilets Jaunes - Bobbers by 9 - Brookfield Ukies @ Dumbarajko Elephants - Oliphants by 9 The Sea Lions game was listed in the NCE battles. They're hoping to pull another upset to cement their divisional status. Chelt Nam definitely has the easier game of the other two, though Gilet did pull off an upset last week. And the Dumbo wants to get a playoff spot too, so they'll not be taking this game lightly. If all the favorites win, the Bobbers rise once again to the division lead. |

Week 16 of season 56 is week 2 of the murderous row that the SEA LIONS have to endure at the end of S56. And it is also a premiere for us: We play the mystics for the first time in a meaningful game ever. And which moment would be better for such an honor than having to play them on the back end of the schedule with so much at stake for either one of us
They come off a painful home loss against their division opponent Social Distance Runners and are now only in front of them at #2 in the NC East because of better PD. This loss also cost them their chance to win the division. If they’d lose again and the Runners win at Mustangs (who still fight for their chance to go to the postseason themselves), they would even fall to #3 in the division and drop out of the playoffs. So we need to be highly alert

There were some exciting games today. And some surprises. For example, I didn't expect to beat the Guardians, but my team waited until now to play some of its best defense. Though for their divisional battle it didn't matter since the Knights also stomped the Falcons.
The newly dubbed Broken Arrow took the Seagulls to Overtime; they still lost, but a surprising game nonetheless. Yoda got crushed by Rio... there's probably some witty line about the Dark Side here, but it fails me. KMN got the win over Hemet, but it took a last minute score to break the tie. What?!? I was surprised by the Sea Lions getting past mystics, as well as the Stangs beating the Runners, but it makes the NCE just that much more fun, with 3 teams at 9-6, leaving divisional games the last week to decide it all. The Ukies stole one from the Elephants, leaving that division entirely hanging on the Sea Lions-Bobbers matchup. I love that there's so much still undecided this season. Even though I'm out of the race, it makes things more interesting. |

We ré still on the race for the playoffs, but clearly, we deserve nothing with such a bad offense. |
