Relegation

Relegation means that the lowest placed teams in one league move down into a lower league in the same region. They are replaced in the higher league by the best placed teams from the lower league. In addition, the next four lowest placed teams in the higher league have to play a playoff game against the next-best teams from the lower leagues to see which of these teams gets to play in the higher league next season. These playoff games are so called relegation games.

Relegation if no Elite team is involved

The teams placed at #25 - 28 have to play against the Divisional Playoff Losers of the league below in the same region. The higher league Teams have Home advantage. The winners of those matches will play in the higher League level next season, while the losers of those matches will play in the lower League level. The matchups are random.

The 4 Conference Championship games participants of the lower league will promote directly to the next League level, and the places #29 - 32 will relegate directly down to the lower league. The way those teams go down are random.

On Promotion or Relegation the region is kept stable, you can't promote/relegate from "Fire" to "Galaxy", for example. There is no way to stay inside the division you have chosen when you started playing the game, so it could be very well that you switch from AC South to AC North, for example

Relegation if Elite team is involved

In the RZA Elite League the worst two teams of each division relegate to the League level below - without playing a relegation game. They exchange places with the Superbowl contenders of each regions league 1.

Relegation markers (r/R)

The League tables show the possible relegation spots. A (R) marks direct relegation without playing a relegation game, while (r) marks the sposts that will have to defend their League membership in a relegation game. The marker is shown only for the downwards direction, and only in the following views: in "League" for the League levels below RZA Elite League, as long they are not at the lowest league level; and the "Division" for the RZA Elite League.
